Clear Card Challenge

Here's another card I made for a challenge for Stamping Out Alzheimers.  This challenge was to create a card with clear acetate or transparency paper.  Once I had the image picked (For You from Squigglefly) out I wanted to use, the rest came together pretty easy.

I used Green Galore and Pixie Pink cardstock from Stampin' Up!  The green is 4.25" tall x 6.5" wide and scored at 1.25" to make a card.  I cut my transparency paper to 4.25" x 5.5" and attached it to the back of my flap on the green.

The pink is attached to the back of the transparency paper and the turtle is attached to the front (so you can't see the adhesive).  The sentiment is a two-part sentiment from Clear Dollar Stamps.  I stamped the first part (I just wanted to...) where you could see it with the card closed.  The second part is stamped behind the pink (tell you I love you.) so it is a surprise when the card is opened.

I had fun making this card.  Thanks for looking!!

Paper: Green Galore & Pixie Pink from SU, clear transparency
Stamps: For You digi-stamp from Squigglefly; Create a Card (discontinued) from Clear Dollar Stamps
Ink: printer ink, Palette Noir for sentiment
Accessories: white ribbon, green gem brad

Love Birds

This card is for several different challenges:  Mojo Monday #88, Stamping Out Alzheimers Verve Challenge, and Digital Tuesday #8.

I love using white and black for my wedding cards.  The Love Birds is a digi-stamp from DigiStamp Boutique.  Added the red and I think it adds pow to the card.  I used the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder on the top white, red satin ribbon, used Crimson Red and Black Prismacolor pencils, Stickles on the "bride" and gold brads that I embossed black because I didn't have any black brads.

The bottom picture shows part of the embossed background and the Stickles on the "bride" bird.  This was a very fun challenge and I was happy to be able to combine several challenges into one card.

Thanks for looking!!  I should be back later with more cards!

Paper: white, black, red from stash
Stamps: Love Birds from DigiStamp Boutique
Ink: printer ink
Accessories: red satin ribbon, gold brads, versamark, black embossing powder

Guest Designer Challenge

Clear Dollar Stamps has a monthly challenge for a Guest Designer position.  Below is my entry for the June 2009 Guest Designer Challenge.  This month was a supply challenge and we had to use the following supplies: brads, designer paper, ribbon and 1 stamp set.

The stamp set is from Clear Dollar Stamps, called Charliene April Showers.  The layout I used is a modified layout from Mojo Monday, here.  I paper pieced the umbrella and boots to match my papers.  Charliene was colored with my Prismacolor pencils and OMS (as always).  I added a brad to the top of her umbrella.

Thanks for looking!!

Wanna win some High Hopes stamps?

One of my fellow Squigglefly DT members is going to give away 2 different High Hope stamp sets!!  Hope on over to her blog and see what you have to do to win!  Good luck!

Graduation Gift Cards

I found this adorable template for these gift card holders on this site, here.  Then when Dustin Pike released his freebie on Wednesday, I thought it would be the perfect image!  I found the background paper at a scrapbook store in Mexico, MO called Remember This (very cool place to check out if you are in the area).

These were very simple to make.  Here is the outside version with the ribbon tied.

Here is the inside showing a credit card peeking out (one of those that you get in the mail trying to get you to apply for the credit card).

Thanks for looking!  I should be back later with a couple more cards for some challenges posted on the Stamp Out Alzheimer's forum.

Paper: Bazzil green, Georgia Pacific white, Bruin
Stamps: Grads from Dustin Pike
Ink: printer ink
Accessories: yellow ribbon

Congrats Grad!

One of my husband's friends had a daughter graduate High School this weekend.  She is very smart and I'm sure all of her dreams will come true!  I wanted to use this Magnolia image, Tilda as Butterfly, to symbolize getting her wings after graduating.

The layout came from an old sketch challenge (here) from Sketch Saturday, but I made a few modifications to it.  I added Stickles to her wings to make them sparkle (not sure if you can see it in the picture).

Paper: DCWV Glitter Stack, pink & brown from stash
Stamps: Tilda as Butterfly from Magnolia, Congratulations
Ink: Palette Noir
Accessories: Prisma flowers, gold brads, ribbon

Squigglefly Challenge #3

Here is my entry for the Squigglefly Challenge #3.  Since I just became a DT member, I didn't have time to get this made in time to be featured on the Challenge.  Thought I would show it here.  The teddy bear is Broken Teddy from Squigglefly.
The challenge is a color challenge:  chocolate chip, pretty in pink and bordering blue.  As I don't have all the Stampin' Up! colors yet, I used the colors that I had that were close.  The layout came from the weekly challenge on the Stamp Something blog, found here.  I just rotated the layout.

Paper: from stash
Stamps: Broken Teddy from Squigglefly
Ink: printer ink, Cowboy Boots (brown) from The Angel Company(tm)
Accessories: pink flower brads

More than cards...

I don't just make cards.  Below are pictures of two pillows I made using Swedish Embroidery.

The front material is called Monk's Cloth and can be purchased at most major craft stores like Hobby Lobby and Jo-Ann's, plus Wal-Mart also carries it in white and off-white.  I made these into pillows using a burgundy cotton material with pocket back so the pillow can be taken out for machine washing (on delicate cycle).

Shown above is a close-up of the weaving that is done.  This design is called Tumbling Hearts.  I plan to make a full size afghan this winter using this pattern.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me!!  Thanks for looking!

Exciting news!!

Just a Note

When I first saw this little girl, I fell in love!  She is just so cute.  Can you imagine what she is thinking?  This is Daisy from Sugar Nellie.  I really couldn't see myself buying her so I put out a request for some stamped images on Splitcoast Stampers.  One very sweet lady volunteered to send me some of her and even some other Sugar Nellie images.

The layout is from The Sugar Bowl.  My friend Diana gave me the Prima flowers (thank you!!).  I colored Daisy with my Prismacolor pencils, like always.  The button was one I had laying around.

Thanks for looking!!

Now I'm off to work on cleaning house and getting ready for a Parking Lot Garage Sale at a local flea market tomorrow.  I will have lots of stamping stash to sell as well as some kids toys.  Now maybe I will have a cleaner house and more room to stamp!!  LOL!!

Paper: from stash (sorry I can't tell you)
Stamps: Daisy from Sugar Nellie, Trendy Greetings from The Angel Company
Ink: unknown
Accessories: Prima flowers, yellow button, white ribbon

Just Clowning Around

This guy is just adorable!  As soon as I saw him, I knew I had to download him.  His name is Carl the Clown.  Yes, he's a digi-stamp and I found him on KLM Designs.  They are a new stamp company and have several cute images for sale ... plus a free one!!  I also snagged him while I was over there so I'm sure you will be seeing Charlie on a card very soon!
I found the layout over on Card Patterns.  It is a layout for their Design Team Call.  The papers are from my stash that I'm trying to use up so I can start telling you which brands of papers I'm using (sorry).  Carl was colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS (odorless mineral spirits).  The flowers are Prima flowers that I got from my friend, Diana.  Be sure to check her blog too!!  Thanks for looking!!

Stamps: Carl the Clown from KLM Designs

Pink & Green Willow

I have fallen in love with some of the images over at Whiff of Joy.  I received the Willow with Flower Basket in an express image swap on Splitcoast Stampers.  This is a wonderful way to grow your "stash" of different images or to try out a different image.
This is another pink & green combination.  I think she is cute with her green pants and pink shirt.  I used the corner rounder on the bottom to create the scallop edge.  The bow is called a "fork bow" - click here for instructions.  Willow is my first entry (of many, I'm sure) for the Whiff of Joy challenge blog.  Thanks for looking!

Paper: from stash
Stamps: Willow with Flower Basket from Whiff of Joy
Ink: Black StazOn
Accessories: white ribbon, corner rounder, fork

Boys are ...

... a noise with dirt on it.  At least according to the DP that I used on this card.  I absolutely love this image from Dustin Pike.  If you haven't checked out his site yet, you are missing some really cool images!!  I colored this truck in with my Prismacolor Pencils and then blended with OMS (odorless mineral spirits).  The DP fit the image perfectly.
This card is my entry for the challenge on Cute Card Thursday.  I'm sure this would put a smile on a little boy's face (my little one loved it)!

Stamps: Monster Truck digi-stamp from Dustin Pike

Accessories: white ribbon

Happy Mother's Day

I want to wish every mother out there a Happy Mother's Day!

Mom, if you are reading this, I love you!!

Here are the two cards I made for my moms - my mom and my mother-in-law.

This one is going to my mom, Grandma Toni. The image used is Relaxing Tilda from Magnolia stamps that I received in an image swap.

This one is going to my mother-in-law, Grandma Silvia. She has watched both of our kids a lot for us during the last few years. The image is a digi-stamp called Brentwood from Jessica Lynn Originals. Isn't he cute?

Be sure to check out...

The Digi Shack!  They have some very cool digi-stamps!  I have used some of their images, the dragon found here, the cherry blossom found here and the fairy godmother found here.  Plus, I have just won 3 of their new images (here) so you will be seeing those on some of my cards soon!

April Showers ...

... are supposed to bring May flowers.  I know I am getting tired of all the rain we have been getting here.  One night last week we got over 3 inches!!!!  It looks like this little bee from Dustin Pike is trying to hide from the rain as well!
Again, I'm using supplies from my stash so I can't really tell you what the papers are.  The layout came from The Fresh Batch, found here.  Thanks for looking!!

4-wheelin' anyone?

Ever since I got this Monster Truck from Dustin Pike, I knew I had to make an orange one!  The layout came from Dare U 2 Digi-Stamp for their weekly challenge.
I've been trying to use up some of my stash cardstock so that is where the orange, brown and black come from.  The black string is some cord that I had on hand for making my washer necklaces, seen here.  The truck is raised using pop dots.  The sentiment comes from The Angel Company, called Trendy Greetings.
Thanks for looking!!
